Build Your First 15-Minute Flow in the Sequence Builder: A Four-Step Walkthrough

You don't need a full hour or a studio membership to start a home practice. With the sequence builder, you can pick one peak pose, frame it with a warmup and a counterpose, and walk away with a balanced 15-minute flow that actually feels like yoga rather than a random stretch list. Here's the four-step path, plus the small choices that make the difference between a sequence that drags and one that flows.

Start by choosing your peak. A peak pose is the shape your body will spend the most time approaching, so pick something that matches how you feel today, not what looks impressive on a feed. A grounded standing pose like Warrior II or a steady seated shape like Half Lord of the Fishes both work beautifully for a first sequence. The builder lets you type the pose name directly, so there's no hunting through menus.

Once the peak is locked in, build the runway. Add two to three warmup shapes that open the areas your peak asks for. If your peak is a side bend or twist, lead with gentle side stretches and a low lunge. If it's a backbend, lead with cat-cow and a mild heart opener. The builder shows the sequence as a vertical list with timestamps, which makes it easy to see at a glance whether your warmup is long enough to earn the peak. A common first-timer mistake is rushing straight to the hardest shape; give yourself at least four minutes on the front end.

Now close it with a counterpose. Every peak has an opposite shape, and skipping it is how people end a practice feeling tighter than they started. A forward fold after a backbend, a gentle twist after a deep side bend, or a simple cross-legged seat after standing work. Two to three minutes here is plenty. The sequence builder lets you drag poses to reorder, so you can experiment with placement until the arc feels right.

Save and name it something you'll actually remember. "Morning reset" beats "Flow 1" because future-you will scroll past anything generic. Once saved, the sequence lives in your library and you can replay it any time, or duplicate it as a starting point for tomorrow's practice. Fifteen minutes a day, sequenced with intention, adds up faster than most people expect.

Ready to build yours? Open the sequence builder, pick your peak, and let the four-step path do the heavy lifting. Your first flow is fifteen minutes away.
